This is aromatically similar to the straight Meursault villages but with more prominent floral nuances. The solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract and excellent richness to the palate coating and nicely powerful finish. This appealingly textured effort is quite tightly wound and will need time in bottle to fully mature. *Outstanding* - BH

The 2018 Clos des Ambres is beautifully emblematic of the Ente house style in 2018, as this wine is full-bodied and quite suave, but also only 12.6 percent octane and utterly classical in structural sensibilities. The nose jumps from the glass in a complex blend of passion fruit, almond, pear, a lovely base of soil, a touch of iodine, orange zest and a discreet foundation of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and seductive on the attack, with a good core of fruit, a nice sense of reserve on the finish and intense backend energy on the focused, complex and very precise finish. Stellar juice. - JG

A beautiful wine, Ente's 2018 Meursault Clos des Ambres unwinds to reveal aromas of pear, orange oil, wheat toast, chamomile and subtle hints of praline. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with lively acids and chalky structuring extract, it's an elegant, nicely concentrated rendition of a cuvée that I've always particularly enjoyed chez Ente. I suspect it will develop very nicely with some time in bottle. (WK) - WA
